In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, reconciliation, and truth; I would like to acknowledge that while I am a member of Metis Nation Region 3, where I live is the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy which includes the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations, the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations of Wesley, Chiniki, and Bearspaw. Finally, I want to acknowledge all other Indigenous Nations who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory. As I walk forward, these words echo through my heart and bones.
